Marist Elevates Gino Cammilleri to General Manager as Coach Mike Willis Expands Program Vision

The new role blends operations, recruiting, and community partnerships under a long‑term strategy for the Foxes

Marist College has named Gino Cammilleri as its new General Manager for the football program, a position that consolidates operations, logistics, player development and fundraising under a single leadership umbrella. Coach Mike Willis, who has guided the team for three seasons, emphasized that Cammilleri’s deep roots in the department and his proven ability to bridge the gap between the locker room and the broader campus community made him the natural choice.

A Strategic Leap Forward

In his expanded role, Cammilleri will oversee everything from roster construction and scouting to the day‑to‑day management of equipment, travel and compliance. He will also serve as the primary liaison to NFL franchises, local businesses and the Marist Touchdown Club, ensuring that the program’s resources are aligned with its long‑term ambitions.

Willis praised the collaborative effort that made the position possible, thanking Director of Athletics Tim Murray and Executive Vice President Geoff Brackett for their vision, as well as the support shown during the recent Day of Giving campaign that helped meet staffing needs.

Cammilleri’s background reflects a blend of on‑field insight and administrative acumen. After serving as Director of Football Operations last season, he spent seven years in various football operations roles, including a stint as a scouting and recruiting analyst at the University of North Dakota and a freshman offensive coordinator at Green Mountain High School.

Looking Toward 2026

With the new structure in place, Marist enters its third season under Willis’ guidance poised to build on recent progress. The program’s enhanced recruiting pipeline and strengthened community partnerships are expected to elevate competitiveness in the coming years.
