The 2026 Iowa high school baseball season wrapped up with the crowning of four state champions in late July, as the Iowa High School Athletic Association announced its all‑state selections for each classification.
High School On SI Iowa assembled three all‑state teams — first, second and third — for every division, drawing on in‑season performance, postseason results, statistical output, all‑district and all‑conference recognitions, and extensive coach feedback.
The announcement also highlighted the class captains, naming Cal Jepsen of Sioux City East, Nolan Dittmer of Davenport Assumption, JJ Phillips of Pleasantville and Cal Heydon of Coon Rapids‑Bayard as the leaders of their respective classes.
Captains Lead the Way
In Class 4A, the first‑team roster drew talent from Sioux City East, Indianola, Fort Dodge, West Des Moines Valley, Linn‑Mar, Davenport North and Iowa City Liberty, showcasing the depth of the state’s top programs.
Class 3A’s first‑team featured standouts from Davenport Assumption, Dubuque Wahlert Catholic, Western Dubuque, Nevada, MOC‑Floyd Valley, Knoxville, Sioux City Bishop Heelan, Cedar Rapids Xavier and Carlisle, underscoring a competitive mix of public and private schools.
The 2A first‑team included players from Pleasantville, Grundy Center, Cascade, Iowa City Regina Catholic, Durant, Roland‑Story, Unity Christian and Underwood, while the 1A first‑team comprised athletes from Coon Rapids‑Bayard, Logan‑Magnolia, Martensdale‑St. Marys, Moravia, Saint Ansgar and Mason City Newman Catholic.
