Salina’s Back‑to‑School Blockbuster Brings Families Together
The Yard, a beloved baseball and softball complex on 138 S. 4th Street in Salina, will open its gates this Friday evening for a special back‑to‑school celebration, running from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
From 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m., families can wander through a festively decorated courtyard where free ice cream scoops and a series of carnival games await, promising sweet treats and lighthearted competition for children and adults alike.
Inside the facility, a $5 HitTrax home‑run derby will let participants test their swing against virtual pitchers, while an outdoor screening of the 1992 classic ‘Rookie of the Year’ will provide a nostalgic movie night under the stars.
The event is being organized by The Yard Charities, a local nonprofit dedicated to fostering community engagement through sport and recreation, and it is open to anyone who wishes to join the festivities.
