Southern Miss unveiled its full Sun Belt Conference slate for the 2026‑27 men’s basketball season on Tuesday, giving fans a clear picture of the road ahead.
The Golden Eagles will meet six familiar foes twice, traveling to and hosting Troy, Arkansas State, Louisiana Monroe, South Alabama, Louisiana Tech and Louisiana in a traditional home‑and‑home format.
In addition, the team is slated for single‑game road trips against James Madison, Georgia State, Georgia Southern, Coastal Carolina, Old Dominion and Appalachian State, rounding out a diverse non‑conference slate.
Tournament and timeline
Conference play is scheduled to begin in late December and stretch through February, with games on a near‑weekly basis from Dec. 19 through Feb. 26. The Sun Belt Tournament is set for March 2‑8 in Pensacola, Florida, where the Eagles hope to improve on last year’s semifinal exit.
Coach Jay Ladner, who guided the program to a 19‑16 overall record and a 9‑9 conference mark last season, will be looking to build on that foundation as the new schedule takes shape.
The non‑conference portion of the schedule remains undisclosed, leaving additional matchups to be announced in the coming weeks.
