A New Face in the Hawkeye Lineup
Iowa’s women’s basketball program has added another high‑profile prospect to its 2030 recruiting class, extending an offer to Quinn Sowder, a 6‑foot‑2 forward from Brownsburg, Indiana.
Sowder, who currently stars for Brownsburg High School and the Indiana Girls Basketball 16U circuit, has already attracted attention from a suite of Power Five programs, including Iowa State, Arizona State, Miami, and UCF, as well as several Big Ten rivals such as Michigan, Maryland, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin and Purdue.
The commitment follows a series of recent offers to fellow in‑state standouts Jaycie Helmer and Treyana Kirstatter, underscoring the Hawkeyes’ strategy of assembling a deep talent pool within the region.
Sowder’s versatility on the wing and her experience in the competitive Girls Under Armour Association have positioned her as a coveted piece for the upcoming roster, with the university viewing her as a key building block for the 2030 season.
The recruitment highlights Iowa’s continued focus on securing top‑tier talent across the Midwest, a trend that has seen the program consistently challenge for conference contention in recent years.
