Wright State Raiders Head to Disney World for 2026 ESPN Events Invitational

A historic season and key returnees set the stage for a competitive showcase

The Wright State Raiders have earned a spot in the 2026 ESPN Events Invitational, a three‑day basketball showcase that will take place at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida from November 23 to 25. Games will be held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, a venue known for its professional‑grade facilities.

The tournament field consists of six teams, including Akron, Appalachian State, Belmont, St. Bonaventure and Yale, offering the Raiders a varied slate of opponents as they look to build on last season’s success.

A Competitive Field

Coach Clint Sargent, who was named Horizon League Coach of the Year, will lead a roster that returns Horizon League Freshman of the Year Kellen Pickett. The team finished the previous season with a 23‑12 record, marking the program’s 15th year with more than 20 wins.

The event will be staged at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, a 260‑plus acre facility that features a 9,500‑seat stadium, indoor arenas and venues such as State Farm Field House, which has hosted NBA playoff games and elite youth tournaments.

Beyond the competition, the invitational highlights ESPN Events’ broader portfolio of more than 34 events and over 400 hours of live programming each year, underscoring the growing platform for college basketball on a national stage.
