The PNC Hockey Day Minnesota Classic will make its debut on August 12 at Madden’s on Gull Lake, offering a unique blend of golf and hockey that honors the region’s sporting traditions.
The tournament will showcase appearances by members of the University of Minnesota’s men’s and women’s hockey teams, giving fans a chance to see Gopher players up close while they enjoy a round of golf and a communal dinner.
Registration packages include 18 holes of golf, access to the practice facility, and a cookout dinner, with standard pricing set at $375 per individual or $1,500 per team of four; a special rate of $200 per individual or $800 per team is available to Brainerd Hockey and Madden’s members, subject to a cap of 18 teams.
All proceeds from the event are earmarked for local nonprofit hockey growth initiatives, reinforcing the commitment to expand youth participation in the Brainerd lakes area.
A Celebration of Heritage and Growth
Building on this momentum, Hockey Day Minnesota 2027 will culminate in a week‑long celebration at Brainerd International Raceway in January, featuring youth, high school, college and professional competitions that aim to solidify the area as a year‑round hockey destination.
