Second‑year head coach Adam Dyess, who has made giving back a cornerstone of his program, said the project reflects a deliberate shift from solely chasing victories to fostering mutual benefit beyond the diamond.
Senior catcher Nolan Scott described the effort as a catalyst for team cohesion, noting that the shared purpose has helped freshmen integrate quickly and strengthened bonds among upperclassmen.
Using old baseball gloves as makeshift delivery boxes, the players packed meals in just 45 minutes, a creative twist that turned sports equipment into a tool for service.
The drive’s organizers plan to repeat the fundraiser each year, embedding the program into the team’s long‑term strategy for community engagement and student development.
