A Season of Promise
The Wilsonville Wildcats are poised to defend their recent dominance as the 2026 football season approaches. After capturing Class 5A state titles in 2023 and 2024 and completing an unbeaten 2025 campaign that saw them advance to the state quarterfinals, the team enters the new year with a championship pedigree.
Coach Adam Guenther says the offseason program has laid a solid foundation, with extensive weight‑room work and skill development that have left only a handful of position battles unresolved before fall camp begins.
Returning standouts such as Trevor Glos, the 2025 Special District 2 Offensive Player of the Year, and Daniel Lazaro, the league’s Defensive Lineman of the Year, will anchor both sides of the ball. Joining them is Ben Wiepert, co‑Defensive Player of the Year, who together form a core that Guenther believes is ready to sustain another deep run.
The schedule features a tough non‑league slate, including matchups against Milwaukie, North Medford and Sandy, designed to sharpen the Wildcats for postseason play. Their familiar Special District 2 rivals, notably Canby and the newly added Liberty, promise renewed rivalries that could shape the league standings.
Looking Ahead
With the momentum built over the past three years, the Wildcats are entering 2026 with confidence that their recent successes are not a flash in the pan but the start of a sustained era of excellence.
