Chris Piscioneri has been named the eighth head coach of the University of Maine at Farmington men’s basketball program, taking the reins for the 2026‑27 season. The announcement, confirmed by Director of Athletics Jamie Beaudoin and Assistant Director Molly Wilkie, marks the culmination of a thorough search that emphasized continuity, academic excellence and community engagement.
Piscioneri arrives with a résumé that spans multiple levels of collegiate competition. His most recent stop was at Elms College, where he guided the Blazers to their first playoff berth in five years and posted a 10‑15 record in his second season. Prior to that, he contributed to St. Bonaventure’s Atlantic 10 triumphs, helping the team secure a No. 9 seed in the NCAA Tournament, and served as an assistant at Nebraska Wesleyan, a program that reached the Elite Eight with a 26‑5 record.
Before his collegiate career, Piscioneri honed his leadership at Elmira College and began in the trenches as a student assistant at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies and two master’s degrees in Athletic Leadership and Sport Psychology, credentials that reflect his commitment to holistic player development.
The Beavers’ recent successes provide a fertile backdrop for Piscioneri’s return. The program finished the previous season with a 23‑6 record, captured its second NCAA Tournament victory and clinched the North Atlantic Conference championship for the first time since 2010.
