Lowell Spinners Close 2025 Season with Strong Community Ties

A 21‑37 record kept the team out of the playoffs, but the franchise finished second in attendance and outlined plans for a bigger ballpark experience.

The 2025 campaign for the Lowell Spinners concluded with a 21‑37 record, leaving the club just outside the four‑team playoffs.

Despite the miss, the franchise finished second in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League for average attendance, averaging 2,123 fans per game behind only the Vermont Lake Monsters.

Community‑Driven Entertainment

The season featured a series of high‑energy promotions, most notably NESN night, which attracted a peak crowd of 4,901 spectators.

Marc Deschenes, principal owner and chief baseball officer, highlighted the role of “Spinnertainment” in creating a vibrant atmosphere, noting that the crowd’s enthusiasm was a decisive factor in the team’s identity.

Former MLB stars Johnny Damon and Jonathan Papelbon made appearances that added star power and drew additional eyes to the park.

On the field, pitcher Caden Smith posted a 4.66 ERA over 56 innings, while local product Quincy Kerr stole 11 bases in 38 games and praised the fans’ support as a cornerstone of his performance.

The Spinners also boasted an unprecedented retention rate of 16 players who remained with the club from the season’s start to its finish, a rarity in collegiate summer leagues.

Looking ahead, the 2026 roster will blend local talent with national prospects, including Bradley McCafferty from the University of Virginia, and will aim to expand seating and visibility at LeLacheur Park for an even bigger fan experience.

Marc Deschenes emphasized that the organization plans to build on this momentum, promising enhancements that will make the ballpark “bigger and better” for the next season.
