Taylor Ducks’ 2026 Baseball Season: Struggles and Honors

Despite a 3‑21 record, seven players receive all‑district recognition

The 2026 campaign was a difficult one for the Taylor baseball squad, as they managed just three victories in a 24‑game schedule.

District Honors Recognize Standout Players

Among the seven players earning all‑district accolades, junior Mason Sunvision stood out as the only first‑team selection.

Sunvision led the club in several key offensive categories, batting .367, reaching base at a .592 clip, collecting 18 hits and scoring 15 runs.

His on‑base skills and consistent hitting made him the centerpiece of the district’s first‑team lineup.

Second‑Team and Honorable Mention Recipients

Senior Angel Rodriguez earned a second‑team nod after driving in 15 runs and stealing nine bases, providing a spark at the top of the order.

Sophomores Tayden Talley and Brody Wygant also received second‑team honors; Talley contributed on the mound while Wygant anchored the middle infield.

Junior Mario Newman, along with sophomores Kingston Baran and Brayden Ochoa, were recognized with honorable‑mention status for their defensive and offensive contributions.

Coach said the recognitions reflect the hard work of a young roster that will look to build on these achievements in the coming seasons.
