The Adirondack Thunder announced this week that forward Tanner Edwards has signed a contract to return for the 2026‑27 ECHL season, securing the 26‑year‑old’s services for another campaign.
A Deal That Builds on Experience
Edwards posted nine points — three goals and six assists — while logging 72 penalty minutes across 37 games last season, a performance that helped the Thunder clinch a playoff berth.
The forward’s journey to the Thunder began after he was acquired in a trade with the South Carolina Stingrays, where he appeared in eight games before moving on to a brief stint with the Toledo Walleye.
Prior to his professional career, Edwards completed his college eligibility at the University of Alaska‑Anchorage and Minnesota State University, where he tallied 16 points in 52 games.
The Thunder, an affiliate of the NHL’s New Jersey Devils and the AHL’s Utica Comets, will look to Edwards to add depth and toughness as they aim for a deeper playoff run.
