East vs. West All‑Star Showdown
The annual East‑West baseball and softball showdown will take place at Pensacola State College this weekend, bringing together senior athletes from Escambia, Santa Rosa and Okaloosa counties in a celebration of high school talent and community spirit.
Baseball action is slated to begin at 6 p.m., with the West squad led by Pensacola High School coach Jonathan Kent and the East team guided by Baker High School’s Preston Nixon. The following half‑hour, a 6:30 p.m. softball contest will feature the West side coached by Chris Baker of West Florida High School and the East side under the direction of Central High School’s Lisa Smarr.

Tickets are priced at $11 for adults and $6 for students, while children five years old and younger are admitted free of charge. Proceeds from the event will be directed toward local youth programs, underscoring the charitable purpose of the Pensacola Sports High School All‑Star Series.
