Beyond personal accolades, the award supports the Boomer Esiason Foundation, a charity that has raised more than $5 million for cancer research and awareness since its inception.
Dave Rimington, the award’s namesake, remains a benchmark for excellence at the position, having earned consensus All‑America honors at Nebraska and captured the John Outland Trophy twice.
