Spirit Valley Days Returns to West Duluth
The annual Spirit Valley Days festival will light up West Duluth from August 7 through August 9, offering a weekend of family‑friendly activities that blend tradition with community spirit.
Kicking off on Friday evening, a colorful parade will roll down Ramsey Street at 5:00 p.m., showcasing floats crafted by local groups and ending with a celebration of the neighborhood’s unique character.
The festivities continue with a Miss West Duluth Pageant at Mr. D’s, followed by a pancake breakfast hosted by the American Legion, giving attendees a taste of local flavors while supporting veteran‑focused charities.
Saturday’s schedule features a bustling vendor and food‑truck market with more than 50 participants, alongside yard‑sale events organized by Flora North and another chance to catch the Duluth Huskies in action, complete with fireworks after the game.
Sunday’s KidFest at Memorial Park promises a day of excitement for younger visitors, with bounce houses, a petting zoo, pony rides, and additional food‑truck options that keep the atmosphere lively and accessible.
Local businesses have stepped up as sponsors, providing the financial backbone that makes many of these events free or low‑cost for families. Notably, Old National Bank has contributed to the funding mix, underscoring the role of corporate partners in sustaining community traditions.
