Connecticut’s men’s basketball coach Dan Hurley has announced a preseason exhibition matchup against Purdue slated for October 24, using the game as a springboard for a demanding nonconference slate.
The contest serves as a direct rematch of the 2024 national championship that UConn captured, reigniting a rivalry that dates back several decades.
In addition to the Boilermakers, Hurley’s schedule features high‑profile opponents such as Michigan, Duke, Illinois, Virginia, Kansas, Ohio State and Arizona, underscoring the ambitious nature of the preseason agenda.
A Milestone Meeting
Purdue, which advanced to the Elite Eight last season before falling to Arizona, will meet UConn on home soil in Connecticut for the first time in nearly three decades, a venue that has historically favored the Huskies.
The two programs sit at 4‑2 in the all‑time series, with UConn having won the most recent encounters, including the 2024 title game and a 2009 Sweet 16 meeting.
