Scrimmage Highlights
On Friday night the South Rowan varsity football squad took the field for a pair of preseason scrimmages, facing off against Parkwood and Bradford Prep in a controlled environment that allowed coaches to evaluate talent.
The Raiders came out firing, posting two touchdowns while limiting their hosts to a single score, a result that set the tone for a promising early season outlook.
Quarterback Logan Rabon orchestrated the offense, connecting with tight end Kaiden Fisher for a scoring strike, while Brooks Hunter also delivered a touchdown pass that highlighted the passing attack.
Running backs Nic Woolf and Jamantay Cox each added two rushing touchdowns, underscoring a balanced ground game that kept the defense on its heels.
Coach Chris Walsh was quick to commend the offensive line, noting that the unit gave up only one sack and opened lanes for a rushing attack that produced multiple scores.
Tight ends Jeb Ritchie and Lincoln Carlberg contributed productive catches, giving the quarterback additional options down the middle of the field.
Defensively, standouts such as Owen Smith, Jeremy Davis, Mason Overcash, Brooks Harrison and Kole Kinley delivered big plays, including a sack each from Davis and Houstonn Polston and an interception by Kinley.
Walsh concluded the session by saying the scrimmage unfolded as expected, but he emphasized that several position battles remain unresolved as the team moves toward the regular season.
