The Southern Conference (SoCon) has teamed up with Nexstar Broadcasting, Inc. to secure a comprehensive 2026 football broadcast package that will be carried by a select group of Nexstar affiliates across the United States.
The agreement guarantees that all 10 member institutions will be featured at least once in a schedule comprising 15 contests, beginning on August 29 when The Citadel visits Wofford at 6 p.m.
October’s calendar is punctuated by three Saturday doubleheaders, highlighted by a clash between Furman and Wofford and a matchup that pits Tennessee Tech against Western Carolina.
November’s wildcard weekend, slated for the 7th, 14th and 21st, will serve as the decisive moment for both the conference championship and the pursuit of an NCAA Division I‑FCS playoff berth.
Broadcast distribution
All contests will be streamed concurrently on ESPN+ while select Nexstar local stations, including WYCW in the Greenville‑Spartanburg‑Asheville‑Anderson market, will air the games live. Additional outlets such as EFLI in Chattanooga and WMUB in Macon may also pick up select fixtures.
The partnership underscores Nexstar’s expanding footprint in collegiate sports coverage and reflects the SoCon’s ambition to broaden its national exposure ahead of the new season.
