Coastal Carolina University’s football team has been highlighted by Pro Football Network, which recently released its preseason All‑Sun Belt teams. The Chanticleers earned representation on the first, second and third teams, underscoring the program’s depth heading into the 2026 season.
Preseason Accolades
Leading the defense, Myles Woods secured a spot on the First Team after posting three interceptions, 45 tackles and six pass breakups. His performance placed him at the top of the conference’s defensive rankings and earned him a career‑high nine tackles in the final game against South Carolina.
The second‑team selections included Tristian Gardner, Donovan Grayson and Mason Barton, while the third‑team list featured Xzavier Booker, Jordan Thompson and Azarel Juste. In addition, Ja'Marion Wayne, Tray Brown and Woods were also named to the Sun Belt Conference’s preseason all‑conference squads, reflecting a broad acknowledgment of the team’s talent.
Season Outlook
The Chanticleers will open the season with a high‑profile slate, beginning with a September 5 contest against West Virginia followed by a September 12 game versus Fordham. Both matchups promise to test the newly recognized units as they transition into their first year under the preseason honors.
