A Familiar Voice Returns to the Stadium
Luallen’s connection to the program dates back to his college years from 1986 to 1989, when he blocked for the Seminoles under legendary coach Bobby Bowden. The appointment marks a full‑circle moment, linking his playing days to a new leadership role in the stadium’s soundscape.
Since 2007 Luallen has served as the radio play‑by‑play voice for FSU baseball, calling 984 games and guiding listeners through six College World Series appearances. His voice has become a staple of Seminoles athletics, complementing his work on pregame shows and the GameDay Live app, which he has hosted since 2025.
The 2026 football season will open on August 29 against New Mexico State, with home matchups against SMU, Virginia, Clemson, NC State and Florida. Luallen’s hiring arrives amid a renewed focus on continuity, as he steps into a role that echoes the tradition of the stadium’s historic announcements.
