The Lowcountry is gearing up for the return of a beloved tradition as Knight’s Companies brings back its Friday Night Rivals series for a 17th season of live high school football.
Live coverage expands across multiple platforms
Starting August 21, games will kick off at 7:30 p.m. EST, featuring classic rivalries such as Hanahan versus Fort Dorchester and James Island taking on Berkeley. The matchups promise early‑season fireworks and a chance for teams to establish momentum before the playoffs.
Fans can watch the action live on News 4 and MyTV Charleston, with additional streaming options on ABCNews4.com and the network’s social‑media channels. Coverage will also extend to an 11 p.m. recap on Friday nights, giving viewers a full night of football highlights.
Scholarships and school grants bolster the community
Sponsors, including Knight’s Companies and The Thumbs Up Guys Injury Attorneys, will contribute $5,000 in school grants and a $5,000 scholarship to a deserving scholar‑athlete at season’s end. Over the past 16 seasons, the partnership has funneled a total of $170,000 into local schools and students, underscoring the program’s long‑term impact.
The schedule also includes contests such as Philip Simmons versus Hanahan and Berkeley versus Fort Dorchester, among several other Lowcountry programs. Each Friday night promises not only high‑stakes competition but also a celebration of regional talent and school spirit.
As the season unfolds, the revived series is poised to reinforce community ties, provide exposure for emerging athletes, and continue the tradition of Friday night lights that have defined the Lowcountry for decades.
