USC has added Onyeka Joe Agu, a 6‑foot‑10 Belgian forward, to its roster, marking the team’s 11th newcomer and third international player for the upcoming season. His size, defensive skill set and experience are expected to strengthen the frontcourt.
Agu spent recent years competing in Belgium and the Netherlands, turning out for Dynamo Bertem, Bavi Vilvoorde and Brussels Basketball. In 18 games last season he averaged 7.3 points and 5.7 rebounds, and he earned BNXT Young Player of the Month honors in November after posting 10.3 points, 6 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game with a 66.6% shooting percentage.
A Cultural Fit for the Trojans
Head coach Eric Musselman praised the newcomer, saying he embodies the program’s emphasis on energy, effort and enthusiasm while also bringing athleticism and a defensive impact that aligns with USC’s identity.
Agu’s commitment comes just days after the team announced that center Eric Reibe had undergone foot surgery, a setback that opened a spot for additional frontcourt depth. Reibe’s recovery timeline remains uncertain, but the addition of Agu provides immediate options.
The Trojans’ frontcourt now features a blend of international talent, with Reibe, Joshua Hughes and three freshmen — Adonis Ratliff, Darius Ratliff and Christian Collins — all poised to contribute. The schedule is taking shape, with confirmed appearances in the Acrisure Series, including a November 22 game, matchups against South Carolina on November 25 and Utah State on November 26 in Palm Desert, and a potential December 13 showdown with Texas Tech in Fort Worth.
