A Preview of the Upcoming Exhibition
The Texas Christian University men’s basketball program is set to open its preseason with a much‑anticipated exhibition against the University of Wyoming, scheduled for the afternoon of October 17 at the Chaparral Center in Midland, Texas.
Admission to the game is free, giving local fans a rare chance to see a high‑major team in action before the regular season begins.
The event will also feature a youth basketball clinic and a meet‑and‑greet on the evening of October 16 at the Diamondback Energy Athletic Complex, where children from kindergarten through eighth grade can interact with TCU players and coaches.
TCU enters the exhibition after a strong 23‑12 campaign that saw the Horned Frogs advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, while Wyoming finished the previous season with an 18‑15 record.
Coach’s Perspective
Wyoming’s head coach, Sundance Wicks, emphasized that the matchup provides a valuable test against a high‑major opponent, offering his squad a chance to gauge its progress before the official start of play.
The clinic and meet‑and‑greet will include autograph sessions and photo opportunities, allowing young fans to connect directly with the team.
The exhibition serves as a final tune‑up for both programs as they prepare for the upcoming regular season, promising an exciting start to the basketball calendar in West Texas.
