A Fresh Surface, A Fresh Start
The Oregon Ducks opened their preseason camp on August 10, stepping onto a brand‑new outdoor turf that promises a different feel underfoot. The team follows a schedule that skips practice on Thursdays and Sundays, resuming on Tuesdays to maintain momentum.
Coach A'lique Terry, together with special teams coordinator Joe Lorig, spoke with reporters after Monday’s session, noting that the staff has purposefully blended individual drills with group exercises to distribute repetitions across the entire roster.
Mentorship in the Trenches
Returning center Iapani Laloulu has embraced a mentorship role, guiding younger players such as Keli Koloi, Iheanacho Manny, Tommy Tofi and Solo Kroeker through the early challenges of camp.
Freshmen Immanuel Iheanacho and Tommy Tofi have already demonstrated strong physical conditioning and mental readiness, and both are actively working with Coach Ryan Walk to secure additional training opportunities.
Looking Ahead
The blend of a new playing surface, a structured practice rhythm and a culture of shared responsibility is already fostering chemistry among the Ducks, setting the stage for a competitive season ahead.
