Centennial Celebration Brings Free Basketball Action to Flint
A free 3‑on‑3 basketball tournament will anchor the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation’s Centennial Family Fun Days in Flint, Michigan, taking place over the weekend of June 6‑7 at the Flint Cultural Center campus.
The event, coordinated by Moneyball Sportswear, is open to boys and girls aged 11‑18, with competitions divided into four age brackets: 11‑12, 13‑14, 15‑16 and 17‑18. Each team may field four players, and every participant receives a reversible jersey.
Registration opens at 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, and will close on May 31 or once each division reaches its limit of ten teams. Priority for spots is given to residents of Flint, while entry remains completely free.
Beyond the games, the Centennial celebration offers a full slate of complimentary activities across the campus, including scavenger hunts, live performances, art‑making workshops, glassblowing demos, a foam party, a soapbox derby and a seedling giveaway. Food trucks and vendors will also be on site throughout the weekend.
Ridgway White, president and CEO of the Mott Foundation, expressed gratitude to the community and urged everyone to take part in the festivities, highlighting the foundation’s longstanding commitment to Flint’s youth.
