A New Era Under Prime
After a hectic stretch of official visits and early‑season games, the Colorado Buffaloes are pausing before summer workouts, giving Coach Deion Sanders a chance to assess the impact of his first major recruiting haul.
The first headline addition is Gabe Jenkins, a four‑star defensive back from Pennsylvania who had been leaning toward Penn State. Jenkins brings a rare blend of size and speed, having logged 24 tackles, three tackles for loss and a fumble recovery last season while also flashing dual‑threat quarterback ability with over 2,000 passing yards and 15 rushing scores.
Joining Jenkins is Ba’Roc Willis, a three‑star edge rusher from Alabama who originally pledged to Alabama before flipping to Colorado. Willis arrives with a prep résumé that includes 299 tackles, 63.5 tackles for loss, 35 sacks and 84 hurries, numbers that have attracted interest from programs such as Georgia Tech.
Their commitments bring the Buffaloes to five verbal pledges for the 2027 class, four of them on defense and one at quarterback. The lone offensive pledge, Andre Adams from Nashville, adds a dynamic arm to the mix, giving the staff a promising foundation as they look to rebuild a defense that has been a focal point of the program’s revival.
