A Recruitment Turnaround
Luke Tisenchek, a standout pitcher from Christian Brothers Academy in New York, first caught the attention of college scouts with a verbal commitment to Manhattan College. The early pledge, however, proved to be only the beginning of a winding recruitment journey.
After transferring from Shenendehowa to CBA during his freshman year, he encountered a one‑year ineligibility imposed by state transfer regulations. The setback forced him to train at the South Troy baseball complex, where he refined his mechanics while awaiting an appeal that ultimately fell short.
Training Through Adversity
Undeterred, the prospect reopened his recruitment on July 21, 2026, and embarked on a series of campus visits that culminated in a decisive choice: Rider University. The school’s recent conference championships, its coaching staff, and the overall campus atmosphere convinced him that Rider felt like home.
He will begin his academic career at Rider on September 4, 2026, intending to major in business while joining the baseball program. He also plans to continue pitching for the Albany Athletics, a club that has excelled in the Albany Twilight League for players aged 18 and up.
