The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga announced its complete Southern Conference slate for the 2026‑27 men’s basketball season, a 20‑game slate that will begin with conference action in December.
A Milestone Season for the Mocs
This year will be the Mocs’ 50th season competing at the Division I level, underscoring two decades of growth since the program first joined the Southern Conference.
The league’s composition will change this year, with Tennessee Tech joining the conference and bringing the total membership to 14 teams — the first time the SoCon has fielded that many squads since the 2008‑09 season.
Consequently, every team, including the Mocs, will play a 20‑game conference schedule, a format that promises a dense and competitive slate.
Chattanooga’s first test will come on December 19, when the Mocs host Mercer at McKenzie Arena to open Southern Conference play.
The schedule also lists additional conference opponents such as Wofford, The Citadel, Western Carolina, East Tennessee State, Furman and the newly added Tennessee Tech, though exact dates and tip‑off times remain to be determined.
While the announced matchups provide a roadmap for the upcoming campaign, the university cautioned that all dates, opponents and venues are subject to change, with game times currently listed as TBA.
