The Southern Conference has finally released its 2026‑27 women's basketball schedule, confirming that Chattanooga will contest sixteen league contests. The addition of Tennessee Tech has forced the conference to expand the slate, giving the Mocs a heavier load than in recent years.
A Revamped Schedule
Chattanooga is aiming to defend its recent regular‑season crown and to build on the momentum of an undefeated 2013‑14 campaign, the last time the program logged as many as eighteen conference games. The new calendar promises a tighter race, with the team set to play on Tuesdays and Saturdays rather than the traditional Thursday‑Saturday pattern.
The first test arrives on December 29, when the Mocs host Samford in their opening league matchup. A rematch of last season’s conference championship follows shortly thereafter, setting the tone for a season that will see Chattanooga open its conference slate on the road against Mercer on January 2.
Key home dates include a stretch of three straight Saturdays in late January, beginning with a showdown against Western Carolina on January 23, a game that will also feature the opponent's participation on the same day. Additional marquee matchups include contests against Furman and UNCG on January 12 and 16, respectively, and a later home game versus Mercer on February 16.
The schedule wraps up with a series of home games against Wofford on February 23 and Western Carolina on February 27, while earlier road trips take the team to ETSU on January 30 and to Tennessee Tech on January 9. Throughout the season, the Mocs will look to translate the new Tuesday‑Saturday format into sustained success.
