The Iowa Hawkeyes have added a new chapter to their 2028 women's basketball recruiting narrative by extending an athletic scholarship to Bridget Fitzgerald, a standout forward from St. Louis, Missouri.

Fitzgerald made an unofficial trip to Iowa City in late April, where she toured the campus, met coaches and got a firsthand look at the program’s culture.
The offer, officially communicated on April 29, placed the Hawkeyes alongside Alabama, Arkansas and several Big Ten peers in Fitzgerald’s growing list of suitors.
Ranked as the No. 2 overall player and the top forward in Missouri’s 2028 class by Prep Girls Hoops, Fitzgerald brings a blend of size, skill and competitiveness that aligns with Iowa’s evolving roster needs.
Her decision will hinge on a mix of academic fit, coaching philosophy and the promise of early playing time, factors that have already attracted interest from Arkansas, Michigan, Kansas State and Iowa State.
