A renewed partnership at Richmond
Black’s Tire will once again serve as the primary sponsor of AJ Allmendinger’s No. 16 entry in the NASCAR Cup Series race at Richmond Raceway on August 15, continuing a four‑year run of support for Kaulig Racing.
The company also headlines the Black’s Tire 250 in the Craftsman Truck Series the day before, marking another milestone in its long‑standing involvement with the sport.
Founded in 1929, Black’s Tire Service has grown into one of the largest independent tire dealerships in the United States, employing more than 1,200 team members across several states while maintaining a family‑owned structure that emphasizes customer service and community engagement.
A legacy of racing at Richmond
Richmond Raceway, a 0.75‑mile asphalt oval in Virginia, has been a NASCAR staple since 1953, hosting 136 Cup Series events and 17 Truck Series races, making it a natural backdrop for the upcoming weekend.
AJ Allmendinger, a veteran of both Champ Car and NASCAR, praised the partnership, noting that Black’s Tire’s consistent backing has been a cornerstone of his career, especially as he prepares for his 500th Cup start in June.
Ricky Benton II, President of Black’s Tire, expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming events, highlighting the positive impact on employees, customers and the broader racing community.
The Cup Series race will be televised by USA and streamed on MRN and SiriusXM, with coverage beginning at 7 p.m. ET, ensuring that fans across the country can follow the action.
