Eight former and current Big Ten players will wear the red, white and blue in Belgium and the Netherlands. Among them are Michigan alumna Abby Tamer, Northwestern’s Ashley Sessa and Maddie Zimmer, Penn State’s Phia Gladieux and Jenny Rizzo, Maryland’s Emma DeBerdine, who also serves as co‑captain, and Northwestern’s Lauren Wadas. Annabel Skubisz, another Northwestern standout, will travel as an alternate.
The competition schedule places the U.S. in a challenging pool, with the first match slated for August 15 against Argentina in Wavre, Belgium, before the team moves to Amstelveen, Netherlands, for subsequent fixtures.
