The American Legion baseball World Series has begun in Shelby, North Carolina, drawing teams from eight communities that represent two broad divisions, the Stars and the Stripes.
Opening Day Schedule
On Thursday, August 13, the first round of games will see the Northeast champion face the Great Lakes representative at 10 a.m., while the Central Plains team meets the Western counterpart at 1 p.m. Later in the afternoon, the Southeast champion takes on the Northwest side at 4 p.m., and the Mid‑Atlantic squad squares off against the Mid‑South team at 7:30 p.m.
The tournament will continue over the next four days, featuring a series of matchups that narrow the field toward the championship game.
Semifinals and Championship
Semifinal action is slated for Monday, August 17, with the Stripes division winner meeting the Stars runner‑up at 4 p.m., followed by the Stars champion versus the Stripes runner‑up at 7 p.m. The winners of those contests will advance to the final, which is scheduled for Tuesday, August 18 at 6 p.m.
