The 2026 West Coast Conference men’s soccer preseason poll has been released, revealing how the nine member programs view each other heading into the new campaign.
Portland Takes the Lead
Portland secured the top spot with 62 points, earning six first‑place votes from the conference’s head coaches. The Pilots’ strong showing reflects a blend of experienced returnees and fresh talent.
San Diego followed closely with 55 points, also collecting two first‑place votes and entering the season as the four‑time defending champion. Denver, now a full‑time member, climbed to third with 53 points, underscoring its rapid integration into the league.
Award‑Winning Lineup
The preseason team highlights several standout players. For Portland, midfielders Diego Rosas and Efetobo Aror, defender David Ajagbe, and forward Joe Highfield earned spots on the squad. Lucca Adams of San Diego was recognized as Goalkeeper of the Year, while Rosas captured Midfielder of the Year honors.
Brayden Beason from San Francisco also made the preseason roster, rounding out a competitive group that includes four Pilots, two Toreros, and representatives from the other participating schools.
The poll was compiled by the conference’s nine head coaches, who were instructed to exclude votes for their own teams and to consider only student‑athletes, ensuring a coach‑driven assessment of the upcoming season.
The 2026 schedule kicks off next week, with each home match streamed on ESPN+, giving fans across the country a chance to follow the action from the outset.
