A Deep Roster Awaits
Weymouth High School’s football program is gearing up for the 2026 season with the mission of protecting the Bay State Conference title it captured last year. Eleven seasoned seniors return, giving the squad a solid foundation as it moves into the next chapter.
Among the standout returnees are rising senior Brendan Flynn and senior two‑way player Tyandre Monteiro‑Cooper, who will anchor both offense and defense. Veteran linemen Isaiah Garcon, Chedwens Justinvil, Dom Brancaccio and Joe Cinquegrano are also set to feature prominently in coach Mike Donovan’s offensive scheme.
The departure of graduated stars Amari Gomes, who amassed 1,640 yards and 18 touchdowns, and Tyler Munchbach, who contributed 878 yards and 14 scores, leaves sizable gaps. The loss of lineman Rafael Alcantara adds to the need for fresh talent to step into key roles.
Coach Donovan has highlighted the team’s intensive summer work, noting that several younger backs will be given opportunities to fill the void left by the departing seniors. The approach is designed to blend experience with emerging talent.
The 2026 schedule is packed with non‑league matchups against Taunton, Diman Regional Vocational and Brockton, while Bay State Conference rivals such as Milton, Braintree, Wellesley, Newton North, Needham and Walpole dot the calendar. A Thanksgiving showdown at Walpole is slated for November 29, capping a season that will also see the team compete in the MIAA state tournament and non‑playoff games, the exact dates of which are still pending.
