NASCAR will once again bring its premier Cup Series to Dover Motor Speedway in mid‑May 2027, staging a 400‑mile points‑paying race on May 16 that marks the 58th consecutive year the event has been held at the historic venue.
A Milestone Weekend for a Legendary Track
The race will be the 109th Cup Series event held at the track, underscoring Dover’s status as one of only a dozen circuits to have hosted more than a hundred NASCAR dates.
Denny Hamlin, the veteran driver from Virginia, is entered in the lineup with a shot at a fourth consecutive win at Dover, a feat that would cement his place among the track’s modern greats.
The surrounding Fan Zone will offer free entertainment, live music, driver appearances and interactive activities, turning the race weekend into a family‑friendly festival that highlights Dover’s reputation as a premier motorsports destination.
Track president Mike Tatoian has emphasized fan engagement as the core of the event, building on the success of the 2026 All‑Star weekend that set the stage for another high‑profile weekend in 2027.
