Nebraska Soccer Unveils 2026 Calendar
The University of Nebraska–Lincoln announced its full 2026 women's soccer schedule, a 19‑match slate that blends non‑conference road trips with a compact home‑field stretch. The campaign kicks off on August 5 in Fort Collins, Colorado, and will wrap up on October 30 at West Lafayette, Indiana, before the team moves on to the Big Ten and NCAA tournaments later in the fall.
Overall, the Huskers will host ten games at their home venue while traveling to nine opponents, giving the coaching staff a balanced mix of rest and competition. The schedule was released in a press statement that highlighted the strategic placement of marquee matchups designed to test the squad early and late in the season.
The opening contest pits Nebraska against Colorado State in what should be a tightly contested debut. A week later, the team heads to Louisville, Kentucky, before returning to Lincoln for a home showdown with South Dakota on August 16 and a clash with Notre Dame on August 20. Those early fixtures set the tone for a demanding stretch that includes a visit from Alabama on August 23 and a home game against Omaha on August 27.
Conference play begins on September 10 when Indiana visits Lincoln, followed by a road test at Iowa on September 13. Additional Big Ten opponents on the slate include Michigan State and Michigan later in September, as well as Wisconsin on October 4 and a series of away games at Maryland, Rutgers, Illinois, USC, and UCLA in October. The regular season culminates with a final road game at Purdue on October 30.
Beyond the regular schedule, Nebraska will participate in the Big Ten Tournament from November 4 through November 13 and then shift focus to the NCAA Tournament, which runs from November 20 to December 14. The postseason appearances mark a continued push for deeper runs after a promising recent campaign.
Athletic Director Bill Moos praised the non‑conference slate for providing valuable early‑season experience, while Coach John Cook emphasized the importance of maintaining momentum heading into conference play. The full schedule is now available on the university's athletics website, where fans can purchase tickets and follow live updates throughout the season.
