German Midfielder Earns Preseason All‑Sun Belt Honors
Carl Romberg, a midfielder who grew up in the town of Werl in North Rhine‑Westphalia, Germany, has been named to the 2026 Preseason All‑Sun Belt Conference Team, a testament to his pivotal role in Marshall University’s recent surge.
Romberg’s impact extends beyond mere accolades; he led the Thundering Herd with 15 points, five assists and a share of the team‑leading five goals, while also finding the net twice in the regular‑season finale against UCF on November 4 and dishing out three assists in the Sun Belt Tournament quarterfinal against Georgia State on November 9.
