The Tucson Roadrunners have announced the signing of forward Jack Ricketts to a one‑year contract in the American Hockey League, locking the 26‑year‑old in for the upcoming 2025‑26 season. The move comes after a promising rookie campaign that saw him split time between the Roadrunners and the Utah Grizzlies of the ECHL.
Ricketts posted 28 points, including 13 goals and 15 assists, while accumulating 48 penalty minutes across 61 games. His performance highlighted a blend of offensive upside and physical play that the organization believes will translate well to the AHL level.
College Highlights
During five seasons at Holy Cross and Quinnipiac, Ricketts compiled 114 points (66 goals, 48 assists) and 187 penalty minutes in 158 NCAA appearances. He captained Holy Cross in 2023‑24, earned preseason All‑Atlantic Hockey honors, and set a Quinnipiac single‑game record with four goals against American International College in December 2024.
His defensive reliability was recognized when he was named the ECAC Best Defensive Forward and earned a spot on the ECAC Second All‑Star Team for the 2024‑25 season, underscoring his two‑way contributions.
Before college, he spent four seasons with the Oakville Blades of the Ontario Junior Hockey League, producing 166 points (73 goals, 93 assists) in 207 games. Heading into his professional debut, he remains the nation’s leading active NCAA goal scorer.
General manager John Ferguson praised the forward’s blend of skill and grit, noting that Ricketts’ experience will add depth and stability as the Roadrunners aim to contend for a playoff spot.
