Preseason excitement in Stillwater
Oklahoma State University will open its preseason schedule with a home exhibition against Tulsa at Gallagher‑Iba Arena on October 23, tipping off at 2:30 p.m.
The matchup marks the first meeting between the Cowboys and Tulsa in Stillwater since 2011 and serves as the opening chapter of a home‑and‑home series that will resume next season, adding a fresh narrative layer to the rivalry.
Tulsa arrives after a 30‑win campaign that culminated in the NIT championship game, and its roster features nine new faces, giving the team a fresh look while still riding the momentum of last year’s success.
Joining the exhibition is a visit from New Mexico, a program that finished the previous season with 26 wins and a run to the NIT semifinals; their appearance in Stillwater represents the first meeting between the two schools in over a decade.
Oklahoma State has also arranged a future preseason series with Wisconsin, a program that under head coach Greg Gard has reached the NCAA tournament eight times in the past 11 seasons, including the last three years, underscoring the caliber of competition the Cowboys are pursuing.
The day will conclude with the induction of former Oklahoma State standout Tony Allen into the university’s Athletics Hall of Honor, a tribute that adds a historic dimension to the basketball showcase.
