Milford to Host Vintage Baseball Tournament and Veterans Car Show

Free community event concludes the township's Second Saturday series on September 12

Milford will welcome a unique blend of baseball history and automotive enthusiasm on September 12, as the Miami Township Recreation Department stages a free vintage baseball tournament paired with a Veterans Appreciation Car Show at Miami Meadows Park.

A Community Celebration of Heritage

The event marks the final installment of the township’s Second Saturday series, offering residents a chance to experience 19th‑century baseball played by reenactment teams such as the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame’s 1869 Red Stockings, the Miami Township GOATS, and a City of Milford squad.

Matchups are set for noon, when the Reds face the City of Milford, followed by a 1:30 p.m. contest pitting the GOATS against Milford, and concluding at 3 p.m. with a showdown between the Reds and the GOATS. Each game will be played on the park’s historic diamond at 1546 Ohio 131, Milford.

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the car show will showcase vintage vehicles, with registration available in advance or on‑site. Attendees can browse a lineup of classic cars while food trucks and alcohol sales keep the atmosphere lively. Sponsors Stitch & Style Alterations and Evan’s Funeral Home have helped bring the event to life.

Adding a touch of local flavor, Cincinnati Reds mascots will be on hand for photo opportunities around 1:30 p.m., giving fans a chance to capture the moment. For those interested in registering a vehicle, contact Jim at 513‑462‑3410.

Beyond the competition and car displays, the day serves as a tribute to veterans and a celebration of community spirit. By offering free admission and a family‑friendly environment, the Miami Township Recreation Department underscores its commitment to accessible recreation for all residents.
