Tyler Parker Steps Down
Tyler Parker, a former Page County graduate and longtime mentor to the Panthers, confirmed his resignation on Tuesday, stating that the decision was driven by the desire to focus on his family. The coach, who has been at the helm for three seasons, will leave the program after a period of gradual growth.
When Parker took over, the team opened with a challenging 4‑20 record, but the following two years produced consecutive winning campaigns of 13‑11 and 14‑11. Those seasons also marked the first back‑to‑back appearances in the Region 2B Tournament in recent memory.
The Panthers capped his second winning season with a quarterfinal victory over Buckingham County, a milestone that highlighted the program’s upward trajectory. The achievement was celebrated by players, parents and the broader community.
