A Double Celebration in Ardsley
The Greenwich Nationals’ youth squads turned the final weekend of the Greater Hudson Valley League season into a showcase of dominance, capturing championships at both the 8U and 10U Red levels.
In the 8U division, the Nationals posted a 6‑0 shutout of Pomperaug, opening the game with a three‑run burst and never relinquishing control.
The 10U Red team followed with a 7‑0 victory over the New Paltz Knights, compiling twelve hits while holding the opposition to just three runs.
Both wins were guided by experienced coaches: Jeff Natale and TJ Ostruzka led the 8U side, while Mike Mora and Will Ostruzka coached the 10U Red squad.
The rosters read like a who’s‑who of emerging talent, featuring players such as Taylor B, Holden B, Pierson B, James F, Cash K, Grayson M, Ryder N, Teddy O, Kiran R, Brock S and Warren S on the 8U team, and Mason B, Anthony C, Ryan H, Parker J, Grayson L, Santino M, Trevor M, Mack O, Rylan S and Chase S on the 10U Red side.
The championships were decided on the fields of Ardsley, New York, a venue that has become synonymous with the league’s summer showdown.
