Wake Forest Announces 2026 Field Hockey Promotions and Giveaways

Community events, student giveaways, and key returning players highlight the upcoming season

The 2026 Wake Forest field hockey season is set to blend competition with community outreach, as the Demon Deacons roll out a series of promotions designed to engage fans of all ages.

All ten home contests will be open to the public at no cost, featuring matchups against Iowa, Michigan, Duke, Virginia, Syracuse and Louisville, with four of those games pitting the team against Atlantic Coast Conference rivals.

Community Engagement and Fan Experience

Highlights include Youth Day on September 6 when the team hosts Ohio, and the novelty of Dog Days on October 18 against Davidson, each accompanied by giveaways and themed activities.

Students can look forward to gear raffles during the home games versus Michigan on August 30 and VCU on September 11, while October 16’s Screamin’ Demons Day promises double SDR points and a chance to win a commemorative rope hat.

Returning standouts anchor the roster: Mia Schoenbeck, the 2025 ACC Offensive Player of the Year, and Mia Montag, the ACC Defensive Player of the Year, alongside freshman sensation Reabetswe Phume, who earned ACC Freshman of the Year honors.

Guiding the squad is head coach Jen Averill, who begins her 35th year at the helm, a tenure marked by 19 NCAA tournament appearances and three straight national championships from 2002 to 2004.

The season also welcomes eight freshmen, underscoring the program’s continued pipeline of talent as it enters its 56th year of intercollegiate play.
