University of New Mexico Announces 2026 Women’s Soccer Schedule

Season opener at home, first match in Hawai'i, and Mountain West Championships on the horizon

The University of New Mexico has released its 2026 women's soccer schedule, confirming a Mountain West Conference slate that includes matchups against UC Davis, UTEP and Hawai'i.

The Lobos open the season with a home double‑header, hosting San José State on September 24 before welcoming Nevada on September 27.

After those early fixtures, the team travels to Grand Canyon on October 3 and Colorado College on October 7, continuing a road stretch that tests their early‑season form.

Notable Games and Firsts

UC Davis will return to Albuquerque on October 11 for what will be the fifth meeting between the programs, the last encounter having taken place in 2021.

The schedule also features a trip to Wyoming on October 15 and a home game against UNLV on October 18, providing a mix of conference opponents.

A mid‑week break precedes a historic visit to Hawai'i on November 1, marking the Lobos' first ever match on the islands; they have only met three times before, the most recent in 2008.

The regular conference campaign wraps up at home against Air Force on November 7, after which the Mountain West Soccer Championships will commence the week of November 8 at a venue to be announced.

Head Coach Karley Nelson, in her inaugural year leading the Lobos, will oversee a roster eager to build on the program's recent progress.
