The Dale Invitational, a premier fall baseball showcase, is entering its 53rd edition, gathering the top teams from every class for a weekend of high‑stakes competition.
A Milestone Tournament
This year’s field of ten squads includes clubs that just completed state tournament play three months earlier, many of them having captured titles or reached deep rounds in the spring season.
Four of the participants earned state championships in the spring, two of which secured their crowns the previous fall, underscoring the tournament’s role as a proving ground for teams that can thrive even after early setbacks.
Legacy of Champions
The Dale Pirates finished the fall at 25‑4 and the spring at 25‑7, advancing to the 2A‑1 State semifinal, while the Am‑Po Panthers posted a 14‑11 fall record and a 24‑7 spring mark, reaching the A‑1 State semifinal.
The Colbert Leopards went 22‑11 in the fall and 31‑7 in the spring, finishing as 2A‑1 State runners‑up, and the Silo Rebels posted a dominant 26‑3 fall and a 31‑7 spring, reaching the 2A State semifinal before falling in the 3A quarterfinal.
Calumet Chieftains captured both fall and spring titles in the B class with 21‑8 and 22‑6 records, while the Rattan Rams surged to a 26‑4 spring after a 20‑11 fall to win the A‑2 State Championship.
The Preston Pirates enjoyed a near‑perfect 29‑2 fall and a 30‑5 spring, earning a spot in the 2A‑2 State Championship game, and the Okarche Warriors capped the season with a 30‑2 fall and a 23‑5 spring, securing both the A State title in the fall and the A‑1 State championship in the spring.
Other notable performances include the Latta Panthers, who posted a 19‑9 fall and a 28‑3 spring to claim the 2A‑1 State Championship, the Ft Cobb‑Broxton Mustangs, who finished 25‑13 in the fall and 25‑11 in the spring as B State runners‑up, and the Cameron Yellowjackets, who navigated a 15‑8 fall and an 18‑9 spring to reach the A State quarterfinal in the fall and the A‑2 State quarterfinal in the spring.
Looking Ahead
With such depth of talent, the Dale Invitational promises high‑stakes matchups, where even teams that stumble early can still contend for the ultimate prize, making this year’s edition one of the most anticipated in the tournament’s storied history.
