Luke Perry, a veteran coach with a distinguished record in NCAA basketball, has accepted an assistant coaching position at Boston College, bringing a wealth of experience from both Division I and Division II programs.
A Storied Career
During his most recent tenure as associate head coach at the University of Massachusetts, Perry guided the Minutemen to an NCAA Elite Eight appearance, marking the program’s deepest postseason run to date.
Prior to that, he spent nine seasons at American International College, where he transformed the Yellow Jackets into a nationally ranked team, captured their first NCAA Tournament victory, and set a school record with 15 wins in the 2021 season.
Under his leadership, the Yellow Jackets earned landmark postseason wins over ranked opponents and secured their first Northeast‑10 Tournament triumph, achievements that reshaped the program’s trajectory.
Perry’s coaching journey began in England, where he helped Lees‑McRae College reach the 2009 NCAA Division II National Championship match, and later served as team captain at Southern Connecticut State University before transitioning to full‑time coaching.
A holder of a UEFA A coaching license, Perry has coached across multiple levels, blending European tactical insight with American collegiate basketball, and has mentored more than 250 student‑athletes who earned Northeast‑10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll recognition.
