Kyler Harris has stepped into a new role at Tulane University, taking on the responsibilities of Volunteer Director of Player Development and Camp Coordinator. The appointment marks the latest chapter in a coaching career that has already reshaped programs at the junior‑college level.
A Fresh Face in Green Wave Coaching
During his time at Pitt Community College, Harris guided the Bulldogs to a 31‑17 record and a berth in the NJCAA Region 10 Tournament. He also oversaw the development of five pitchers who moved on to four‑year institutions, four of them earning spots at NCAA Division I programs.
At Camp Community College, his impact was even more pronounced. Under his guidance the Hurricanes captured the 2024 Region 10 Championship and made their first ever appearance in the World Series, while Harris broke program records for both ERA and WHIP. His summer work in the Coastal Plain League further honed his ability to blend strategy with player growth.
Harris’s own playing days at Western Nebraska Community College and Northwestern Oklahoma State University gave him a foundation in health and sports science, earning degrees in kinesiology. That academic background informs his approach to mentoring student‑athletes, aiming to prepare them not only for competition but for life beyond the diamond.
In his new position at Tulane, Harris will focus on cultivating talent both on the field and in the classroom, aligning with the university’s mission to develop well‑rounded athletes. His experience across multiple levels of collegiate baseball equips him to guide the Green Wave toward sustained success.
