Ole Miss Soccer opened its 2026 campaign with a 1-0 victory over Murray State on Tuesday, delivering the program’s first win of the season and the inaugural triumph under head coach Todd Shulenberger.
The decisive moment arrived in the 63rd minute when forward Katie Ramsden struck the ball into the net, the goal set up by Sarah Granno, who recorded her first assist of the campaign.
Dominant Performance on Both Ends
The Rebels controlled possession throughout, outshot their opponents 22-4 and earned a 10-1 advantage in corner kicks. Both halves saw Ole Miss fire 11 attempts while limiting Murray State to just four shot attempts, a disparity highlighted by the defensive work of goalkeeper Taylor Prigge, who made a single save to preserve a clean sheet.
Looking Ahead
Ole Miss will return to Lafayette, Louisiana, on August 16 to face Louisiana, with the match scheduled for 1 p.m. CT and available to stream on ESPN+. The upcoming contest offers the team a chance to build on the momentum generated by its early-season win.
